Privacy Policy
Last updated: 17 September 2026
This Privacy Policy explains the main categories of personal information used by Yata’s Marketplace and how that information is used across buyer accounts, Seller Portfolios, Supplier accounts, Hire Stall & Space, service listings, reviews, Global Reach, nonprofit features and connected services.
1. Information you provide
Depending on the feature you use, Yata may collect information such as your name, email address, phone number, account login details, billing/contact details, business or organisation information, service area, website, address/location information, store/profile details, product or service listings, photos, reviews and messages sent through marketplace forms.
2. Account-specific information
- Dropshipping Sellers: portfolio/subscription status, product selections, My Store configuration, markup and store publication information.
- Suppliers: supplier application details, business website, contact/address information, approval status, products, stock, warehouse/variation information, fulfilment and shipment events.
- Registered Businesses / Business Service Providers: business profile, business identifiers where required, contact/location information, goods/services and public marketplace information.
- Independent Service Providers: provider profile, contact details, exact address supplied privately to Yata, service area, approximate public map location and service listings.
- Nonprofits: application, approval and organisation/profile information used to administer nonprofit access and public presence.
3. Independent provider location privacy
Independent Service Providers enter a genuine address as part of their profile. Yata stores that information for account and location purposes. The provider can choose in the Service Provider Cabinet whether Global Reach displays the exact location or an approximate public area. The default is approximate unless the provider explicitly opts to show the exact location. Google Maps links follow the same choice. Providers can change this setting later. Buyers and providers remain responsible for agreeing any meeting or service arrangements.
4. Orders, subscriptions and payments
Yata processes information necessary to administer orders, recurring subscriptions, cancellations, paid-through access, reinstatement, commissions, settlements, refunds and payout status. Payment card information and connected payout onboarding may be handled by payment processors such as Stripe or other enabled payment providers. Yata does not need users to send full payment-card details or online-banking credentials by ordinary marketplace message or email.
5. Stripe Connect and payouts
Suppliers, resellers or businesses using supported payout functions may be directed to Stripe or another payment provider for connected-account onboarding. The payment provider may collect identity, bank and verification information directly under its own privacy terms. Yata may receive account identifiers and status information needed to determine whether payouts can be made.
6. Shopify
If an eligible Seller connects Shopify, Yata may process the Shopify shop domain, connection tokens, product/inventory information, publication information, order information and commission-related data necessary to provide the integration. Connection tokens are treated as account credentials and should not be shared publicly. Disconnecting Shopify stops the active connection, subject to records that must be retained for completed transactions or administration.
7. Reviews and public content
Reviews, star ratings, provider responses, Like / Thank reactions, public provider/business names, service listings, product listings and published images may be visible to marketplace visitors. Reported reviews may also be processed by Yata for moderation. Users should avoid publishing unnecessary private information in a review, listing or public response.
8. How Yata uses information
Information may be used to create and secure accounts, provide marketplace and subscription features, route users to the correct portal, administer orders and fulfilment, operate Global Reach, display listings, provide customer support, send transactional emails, manage reviews, prevent abuse, calculate commissions/settlements, operate connected integrations and comply with applicable obligations.
9. Who information may be shared with
Information may be shared where necessary with another party to a marketplace transaction, with suppliers/resellers involved in fulfilment, with payment processors, hosting/email/mapping providers, Shopify where a connection is authorised, and with professional or public authorities where disclosure is lawfully required. Yata does not sell personal information to advertisers.
10. Emails and notifications
Yata may send transactional messages such as application receipts, approvals, password setup links, purchase confirmations, fulfilment notifications, subscription cancellation/reinstatement notices, review-report notifications and other account/service messages. Optional communication channels are used only when they are actually connected and the required user choice or consent has been provided.
11. Cookies, preferences and analytics
The website may use necessary cookies for login, cart, account and security functions, and may use preference or analytics technologies according to the choices offered through the site’s cookie/consent tools. Where personalised marketplace recommendations depend on a preference-cookie choice, the marketplace can continue in a non-personalised form when that preference is not enabled.
12. Retention
Yata keeps information for as long as reasonably needed to provide an active account or service, maintain transaction and fulfilment records, resolve disputes, administer commissions/refunds, meet security needs and satisfy applicable record-keeping obligations. Different records may therefore be retained for different periods. Information that is no longer required should be deleted or anonymised when appropriate.
13. Security
Yata uses account permissions, protected portals, password-reset mechanisms, HTTPS and other technical or organisational measures intended to reduce unauthorised access. No online system can guarantee absolute security, so users should use a strong unique password and protect access to their email and connected accounts.
14. Your choices and requests
You can update many account/profile details from the relevant portal. You may also contact Yata to ask about personal information associated with your account, request correction of inaccurate information or raise a privacy concern. Some information may need to be retained where required for completed transactions, security, disputes or legal obligations.
15. Changes to this Privacy Policy
This policy may be updated when marketplace functions, providers or data practices change. The current version and update date will be published on this page.
16. Contact
Privacy questions or requests can be submitted through the Contact Us page.
